A Smith machine earns its floor space by letting people train heavy without a spotter. That only works if the bar path is right and the bar starts light enough to be honest. The Intenza SBR-09 gets both: a true vertical bar path that follows the natural line of every squat variation, and a counterbalanced barbell that keeps starting resistance low.
ConnectFit specifies the SBR-09 for facilities where members train unsupervised — multifamily amenity rooms, hotel fitness centers, corporate gyms, and 24-hour studios. In those rooms it does more work than any other single strength piece, because it makes loaded squatting and pressing something a member can do safely alone.
At 92.2" tall this machine needs a genuine 8-foot ceiling with clearance to spare, and the pull-up handles need headroom above that to be usable. In basement fitness rooms and converted amenity spaces — which is most of what we install — ceiling height is the constraint that kills a Smith machine specification, and it is far cheaper to find out now than on delivery day. Send us the room and we'll tell you whether it fits before you buy.
At 533 lbs this is a crated freight item requiring on-site assembly, and it is not a piece you want dropped at a loading dock with an assembly manual. ConnectFit delivers with our own crew, assembles and squares the machine on site, and services it afterward with our own field technicians across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. Before we schedule, we confirm ceiling height, doorway and elevator clearances, floor loading, and whether your flooring needs reinforcement under the base.
